Step 1. Get Insurance Authorization
Pre-certification for surgery will be obtained by our office. It may take up to 7-14 business days for approval. We will notify you if there are any problems.
Step 2. Make Pre-Op Clearance Appointments
If ordered by a UVA physician:
- When your surgery date has been set, please make a pre-op clearance appointment with your primary care physician. A pre-op clearance appointment consists of a history and physical, blood work, chest x-ray, and baseline EKG.
- Please make appointments for any additional tests that may have been ordered (e.g. cardiac clearance with your cardiologist).
Step 3. Inform Us of Your Appointment(s)
After making the necessary appointments, please call our office at (310) 209-2011x3 and provide our nurse with the following:
- Your physician's phone number
- Your physician's fax number
- Date and time of your appointment
Step 4. Send Us Your Test Results
All results from your pre-op clearances must be sent to our office no later than 3 days prior to surgery. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of your surgery.
